On June 12, 1990, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 16,270
authorizing the Mayor to sign a quitclaim deed for the sale of the two city -
owned surplus properties on the northside of 14th Street west of Euclid
Avenue to Jack Thach, and Earl Mohler. Althouyh Mr. Thach, and Mohler are
partners, the land that they want to add these two city -owned parcels is
owned solely by Mr. Thach. Therefore, it is recommended to rescind the
Resolution No. 16,270 and adopt a new resolution authorizing the Mayor to
sign the quitclaim deed to Mr. Jack Thach.

RESOLUTION NO. 16,284
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NATIONAL CITY QUITCLAIMING TWO CITY -OWNED
SURPLUS PROPERTIES ON THE NORTHSIDE OF
14TH STREET WEST OF EUCLID AVENUE TO JACK THACH,
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 16,270
WHEREAS, one of the conditions set by the Planning
Commission for the tentative parcel map approved by Planning
Commission Resolution No. 4-90 was for the property owner to
acquire the City -owned surplus properties on the South side
of the parcel in order to meet the minimum lot size
requirements; and
WHEREAS, these two parcels are the remnants of
property which was acquired by the City for the construction
of Euclid Avenue from Plaza Boulevard to 16th Street; and
WHEREAS, due to the irregular shapes, substandard
sizes, and sloped terrain, these two parcels have no value to
anyone but the adjacent property owner; and
WHEREAS, the sale of these two parcels will also
relieve the City from maintaining the landscaping; and
WHEREAS, following the City Council's direction
established on December 12, 1986, City staff has negotiated
with the adjacent property owner, Mr. Jack Thach, and they
have agreed on a price of $3,600.00 for the properties, based
on a value of $4.00 per square foot of land.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of National City that the Mayor is authorized to
execute a Quitclaim Deed quitclaiming two city -owned surplus
properties on the northside of 14th Street west of Euclid
Avenue to Jack Thach. A legal description and plot of the
properties to be quitclaimed are attached hereto collectively
as Exhibit "A."
HE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 16,270
is hereby rescinded.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 26th day of June, 1990.
