RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION TO PURCHASE TAX-DEFAULTED
PROPERTIES FROM THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO TREASURER-TAX COLLECTOR
THROUGH TAX SALE NO. 7095.
WHEREAS, on January 21, 2025, the City of National City ("City") received notice of
Tax Sale No. 7095, a sale of tax-defaulted properties through the County of San Diego
Treasurer-Tax Collector ("TIC"); and
WHEREAS, if a property owner is delinquent on their property tax payments for five
or more years, the TTC is empowered by state law to declare the property delinquent and
sell the property at public auction to recover back taxes; and
WHEREAS, prior to public auction, the governing body of the public agency can enter
into "Chapter 8" Purchase Agreements with the TTC to acquire the parcels for public
benefit; and
WHEREAS, the "Chapter 8" purchase price is set by the minimum bid established by
TTC in accordance with Revenue and Tax Code § 3793.1 and includes all defaulted taxes,
assessments, associated penalties and costs, costs of sale, and the "outstanding balance
of any property tax postponement loan."; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to apply to purchase the following properties located
within the City at the corresponding minimum bid; and

WHEREAS, the City intends to utilize the properties for public benefit by offering for
low-income homeownership opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the application requires a resolution from the public agency's governing
board authorizing the purchase.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of National City hereby authorizes the
application to purchase the properties at the corresponding minimum bid to be utilized for
public benefit to offer low-income homeownership opportunities.
Section 2: That the City Clerk shall certify the passage and adoption of this
Resolution and enter it into the book of original Resolutions.
