COUNCIL BECAUSE HE WANTED TO
REINSTALL THE GATES THAT HE HAD
TO REMOVE. THE GATES CUT DOWN
ON THE ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES THAT
WERE OCCURRING IN THIS ALLEY.
ROBERT WOOD, 132 W. 8TH STREET,
SID’S CARPET BARN, STATED THAT
CLOSURE OF THE ALLEY WOULD
HINDER THEIR LONG TERM
EXPANSION PLANS AND THEY WISHED
TO HAVE ACCESS TO THE ALLEY.
COMMISSIONERS DISCUSSED OPTIONS
AVAILABLE AND IF THE GATES COULD
REMAIN.
SENIOR ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY
HRADECKY STATED THAT IF THE
ALLEY IS NOT USED FOR PUBLIC
PURPOSES IT SHOULD BE VACATED.
THE THREE PROPERTY OWNERS
MIGHT HAVE NEED FOR ITS USE AND
THEY COULD GRANT EASEMENTS TO
EACH OTHER.
ASSISTANT CIVIL ENGINEER LONG
STATED THAT THE PUBLIC ALLEY CAN
NOT BE GATED TO STOP PUBLIC
ACCESS. IF THE AREA IS TO BE GATED,
THE ALLEY NEEDS TO BE VACATED.

HE ALSO STATED THEY HAVE THE
SUPPORT OF THE NATIONAL CITY
MILE OF CARS ASSOCIATION. HE
FURTHER STATED THEY WISH TO
MAKE ONE AMENDMENT TO
CONDITION NO. 23, AND PROVIDED
THE PROPOSED WORDING CHANGES.

IN THEIR STORAGE FACILITY IN OTAY
MESA AND THEY FELT IT WAS
ATTRACTIVE, AND HE OFFERED TO
CHANGE THE COLOR IF THE
COMMISSION WISHES.
COMMISSIONER VALDERRAMA ASKED
ABOUT TRUCKS PARKED ON THE
STREET NEAR THE SITE.
STAFF RESPONDED THAT THEY
BELONG TO BANNISTER STEEL AND
SEEM TO BE MOVED WITHIN 72 HOURS
AS REQUIRED BY LAW.

ASKED IF THIS COULD BE INCLUDED
AS A CONDITION OF APPROVAL ON
THE NEXT APPLICATION OF THAT
CELLULAR PROVIDER.
COMMISSIONERS
CHAIRMAN UNGAB STATED THAT THE
PALM TREES SURROUNDING THE
PLAZA AND I-805 WIRELESS FACILITY
SITE NEED ATTENTION.
STAFF STATED THAT THEY HAVE
BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE SERVICE
PROVIDER AND ARE WORKING TO
BRING THE SITE INTO COMPLIANCE.
