RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH FEEDING SAN DIEGO FOR
A FREE FOOD PANTRY AT CASA DE SALUD, LOCATED AT 1408 HARDING AVENUE.
WHEREAS, Feeding San Diego, a designated 501(c)(3) non-profit funded by
philanthropic and community support, provides a Free Food Pantry program to community
partners to ensure every child has access to the nutrition they need to thrive; and
WHEREAS, the City of National City's ("City") Manuel Portillo Casa de Salud Youth
Center, commonly known as Casa de Salud, serves as a safe place for youth when school is not
in session, providing essential services to ensure health and wellbeing; and
WHEREAS, City and Feed San Diego seek to partner to establish a food pantry at Casa
de Salud, at no cost to the City; and
WHEREAS, City staff recommends executing the agreement with Feeding San Diego for
establishment of a free food pantry at Casa de Salud.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute an agreement
with Feeding San Diego for a Free Food Pantry at Casa de Salud.
Section 2: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution
and enter it into the book of original Resolutions.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of June, 2025.
