RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH GL POOLS, LLC FOR
LAS PALMAS POOL MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR A NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF
$500,000.
WHEREAS, the City of National City("City") recently completed major renovations to the
Las Palmas Municipal Pool, including repairs and upgrades to the pool pumps and other critical
mechanical equipment used for daily operations of both the competition and activity pools; and
WHEREAS, the City engages outside consultants for specialized services, as needed,
and is desirous of retaining a licensed contractor qualified to perform pool maintenance services
to ensure proper testing and balancing of the pool chemicals for public health and safety, and to
extend the service life of the equipment through preventive maintenance; and
WHEREAS, in the Spring of 2025, the City released a Request for Proposals for pool
maintenance services, which included a mandatory site walkthrough; and
WHEREAS, three (3) proposals were received by the March 19, 2025 deadline; and
WHEREAS, based on evaluation of the proposals and completion of reference checks,
the City has determined that GL Pools, LLC' is qualified by experience and training, and has the
ability to provide, the required pool maintenance services, and offered competitive pricing; and
WHEREAS, based on GL Pools, LLC's expertise and experience providing such
specialized services, City staff recommends executing a three-year agreement with GL Pools,
LLC for a total not-to-exceed amount of$500,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute an
agreement with GL Pools, LLC in a not-to-exceed amount of $500,000 for Las Palmas Pool
maintenance services. The Agreement is attached to the Agenda Report as Exhibit A.
Section 2: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
Resolution and enter it into the book of original Resolutions.
