RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, 1)
WAIVING THE FORMAL BID PROCESS PURSUANT TO NATIONAL CITY MUNICIPAL CODE
SECTION 2.60.260 REGARDING COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY TO PIGGYBACK ONTO SOURCEWELL CONTRACT #091521-NAF WITH NATIONAL
AUTO FLEET GROUP FOR THE PURCHASE AND BUILDOUT OF A 2026 FORD SUPER
DUTY F-250 SRW (W2B) XLT 4WD CREW CAB; 2) APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A
CAMPER SHELL FROM THE LOWEST RESPONSIVE, RESPONSIBLE BIDDERS; AND 3)
APPROVING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF APPROPRIATIONS AND TRANSFERS AND A
CORRESPONDING REVENUE BUDGET IN THE GENERAL FUND AND VEHICLE
REPLACEMENT FUND WITH FUNDS FROM THE LOWER SWEETWATER FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT'S EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT FUND IN A NOT -TO -EXCEED
AMOUNT OF $81,467.76.
WHEREAS, the Lower Sweetwater Fire Protection District is making available $81,467.76
for the purchase of a vehicle for the National City Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, consistent with National City Municipal Code (NCMC) Section 2.60.260, there
is an opportunity to piggyback onto Sourcewell Contract #091521-NAF for the purchase and
buildout of 2026 Ford Super Duty F-250 SRW (W213) XLT 4WD Crew Cab through National Auto
Fleet Group for the Fire Department in a not -to -exceed amount of $72,032.14; and
WHEREAS, the remaining balance of $9,444.62 will be used for the purchase and
installation of a camper shell for the vehicle from the lowest responsive, responsible bidders; and
WHEREAS, funding for these purchases was obtained from the Lower Sweetwater Fire
Protection District's Equipment Replacement Fund with a check for 81,467.76; and
WHEREAS, this vehicle will be utilized by an Operations Division Chief to respond to large
scale incidents within the city of National City and disasters throughout the state of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of National City hereby authorizes the City to
waive the formal bid process and to piggyback onto Sourcewell Contract #091521-NAF with
National Auto Fleet Group for the purchase and buildout of a 2026 Ford Super Duty F-250 SRW
(W213) XLT 4WD Crew Cab.
Section 2. That the City Council also hereby authorizes the purchase of a camper shell
from the lowest responsive, responsible bidders.
Section 3. That the City Council hereby authorizes the establishment of appropriations
and transfers and a corresponding revenue budget in the General Fund and Vehicle Replacement
Fund based on funding from the Lower Sweetwater Fire Protection District's Equipment
Replacement Fund in a not -to -exceed amount of $81,476.76.
Section 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution
and enter it into the book of original Resolutions.
