RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE TENTH
AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
AND AMERICAN MEDICAL RESPONSE AMBULANCE SERVICE, INC. TO CONTINUE
TO PROVIDE BASIC AND ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT AMBULANCE
TRANSPORTATION SERVICES EFFECTIVE FROM SEPTEMBER 1, 2025 THROUGH
AUGUST 31, 2026.
WHEREAS, on June 20, 2006, the City of National City and American Medical Response
Ambulance Service, Inc. (AMR) entered into an agreement entitled "Agreement by and between
the City of National City and American Medical Response Ambulance Service, Inc." and has been
amended from time -to -time by those First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth
and Ninth amendments (collectively, the "Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, AMR has met all the eligibility requirements for an extension of the
Agreement as set forth in Section VI, Subsection E.1; and
WHEREAS, the National City Fire Department is seeking to exercise a one-year
extension of the Agreement covering the time period from September 1, 2025 through August
31, 2026 (the Option Period); and
WHEREAS, all base and ancillary charges will increase by 5% effective the first day of
the Option Period as shown in Schedule B.1 of the Tenth amendment to the agreement; and
WHEREAS, AMR will make franchise fee payments to the City in fiscal year 2025-26 in
the same amount as in Fiscal Year 2024-25 ($318,023).
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute the Tenth
Amendment to the Agreement with American Medical Response Ambulance Service, Inc.,
attached to the Agenda Report as Exhibit A, to continue to provide basic and advanced life
support ambulance transportation services effective September 1, 2025 through August 31,
2026.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution and
enter it into the book of original Resolutions.
