RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT
WITH WEST COAST ARBORISTS, INC. TO INCREASE THE NOT -TO -EXCEED AMOUNT BY
$180,000, FOR A TOTAL NOT -TO -EXCEED AMOUNT OF $450,000.
WHEREAS, on June 18, 2024, the City of National City ("City") entered into an
agreement (the "Agreement") with West Coast Arborists, Inc. to provide Urban Forestry
Maintenance Services to assist the City's Park staff with ongoing tree trimming needs and
demands for a not -to -exceed amount of $270,000, with an initial term of three (3) years, with the
option to extend for up to three (3) one-year extensions; and
WHEREAS, based on their performance and quality of work, and to ensure the
continuation of assistance and support to Parks staff necessitated by ongoing staffing issues, staff
recommends approval of a First Amendment to the Agreement with West Coast Arborists, Inc. to
increase the not -to -exceed amount by $180,000, for a total not -to -exceed amount of $450,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute a First
Amendment to the agreement with West Coast Arborists, Inc. to increase the not -to -exceed
amount by $180,000, for a total not -to -exceed amount of $450,000.
Section 2: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
Resolution and enter it into the book of original Resolutions.
