BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
AND
SWEETWATER UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
THIS SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT is entered into this 1st day
of July 2025, by and between the CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, a municipal corporation
("CITY"), and SWEETWATER UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT, a California public
entity and school district (the "DISTRICT").
RECITALS
WHEREAS, the CITY and DISTRICT entered into an Agreement on July 1, 2022
("the Agreement"), wherein the CITY agreed to provide school resource officers to help
meet the parties' desires to provide a safe, secure, and orderly teaching and learning
environment for all students and staff within the Sweetwater Union High School District
and the City of National City by protecting life and property, for a flat fee of $203,763 each
year; and
WHEREAS, the duration of the Agreement was from July 1, 2022, through June
30, 2024, with the option to extend by mutual agreement upon the same terms and
conditions for up to three (3) one-year extensions, with any extension of the Agreement
subject to approval in writing by CITY's Chief of Police and DISTRICT's Chief Financial
Officer; and
WHEREAS, on June 11, 2024, CITY and DISTRICT approved the First
Amendment to the Agreement, exercising the first of three (3) extensions extending the
Agreement by (1) year to June 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the Agreement by exercising the second
of the three (3) one-year options to extend the term of the Agreement to June 30, 2026.
AGREEMENT
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree that:
1. The July 1, 2022, Agreement, as previously amended by the First Amendment, is
hereby amended by exercising the second of the three (3) one-year options to
extend the term of the Agreement by (1) year to June 30, 2026. The parties agree
that the compensation for the period of July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, shall
continue to be a flat fee of $203,763.

2. The parties further agree that, with the foregoing exceptions, each and every other
term and provision of the July 1, 2022, Agreement, as amended by the First
Amendment and this Amendment, shall remain in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Second
Amendment to the Agreement on the date and year first above written.
