BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
AND
NATIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
THIS THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT is entered into this 3rd day of
June, 2026, by and between the CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, a municipal corporation
("CITY"), and NATIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT, a California public entity and school
district (the "DISTRICT").
RECITALS
WHEREAS, the CITY and DISTRICT entered into an Agreement on July 1, 2022
(the "Agreement"), wherein the CITY agreed to provide school resource officers to help
meet the parties' desires to provide a safe, secure, and orderly teaching and learning
environment for all students and staff within the National School District and the City of
National City by protecting life and property, for a not-to-exceed amount of$203,763 each
year; and
WHEREAS, the duration of the Agreement was from July 1, 2022 through June
30, 2024, with the option to extend by mutual agreement upon the same terms and
conditions for up to three (3) one-year extensions, with any extension of the Agreement
subject to approval in writing by CITY's Chief of Police and DISTRICT's Chief Financial
Officer; and
WHEREAS, on May 23, 2024, CITY and DISTRICT approved the First
Amendment to the Agreement, exercising the first of three (3) extensions extending the
Agreement by one (1) year to June 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, on June 12, 2025, CITY and DISTRICT approved the Second
Amendment to the Agreement, exercising the second of three (3) extensions extending
the Agreement by one (1) year to June 30, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the Agreement by exercising the third of
the three (3) one-year options to extend the term of the Agreement to June 30, 2027.
AGREEMENT
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree that:

1. The July 1, 2022 Agreement, as previously amended by the First and Second
Amendments, is hereby amended by exercising the third of the three (3) one-year
options to extend the term of the Agreement by one (1) year to June 30, 2027.
2. The parties further agree that, with the foregoing exceptions, each and every other
term and provision of the July 1, 2022 Agreement, as amended by the First and
Second Amendments, shall remain in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Third Amendment
to the Agreement on the date and year first above written.
