RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA,
ADOPTING AN UPDATED SALARY SCHEDULE FOR NON-REPRESENTED PART-TIME
AND SEASONAL POSITIONS.
WHEREAS, the City maintains a salary schedule for certain seasonal and part-time
positions that are not represented by a labor association and, consequently, are not governed by
the State of California's rules and procedural guidelines for public employee collective bargaining;
and
WHEREAS, the salary schedule for these positions was last updated in July 2023; and
WHEREAS, California's minimum wage has increased since the schedule was last
updated, and several listed classifications have starting hourly rates below the current minimum
wage; and
WHEREAS, the City anticipates hiring management interns and other temporary part-time
employees and desires to update the applicable salary schedule; and
WHEREAS, City staff recommend amending the salary schedule for non-represented
part-time and seasonal classifications to reflect the increased minimum wage.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the City Council hereby approves the revised Part-time and Seasonal
Positions Salary Schedule for non-represented employees, as shown in Exhibit B attached to the
Agenda Report, effective July 1, 2026.
Section 2: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution
and enter it into the book of original Resolutions.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 4th day of August, 2026.
