ITEM TITLE: An ordinance adopting the Land Use Code Update (Municipal Code Title 18 Zoning), which would repeal the existing Title 18 in its entirety and adopt the proposed Title 18 to implement the General Plan Update as part of the Comprehensive Land Use Update. PREPARED BY: Raymond Pe, Principal Planner PHONE: 336-4421 EXPLANATION: The Land Use Code implements the broad policies of the General Plan by specifying the uses permitted on each parcel of land, the intensity of development, and standards for development. This update would repeal existing Title 18 Zoning in its entirety and adopt the proposed Title 18 to implement the General Plan Update as part of the Comprehensive Land Use Update, which includes a General Plan Update, a Climate Action Plan, and a Downtown Specific Plan Amendment, all of which were approved by the City Council on June 7, 2011. ORDINANCE: INTRODUCTION: FINAL ADOPTION: STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the ordinance. BOARD / COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: On May 16, 2011, the Planning Commission took action to recommend that the City Council approve the Land Use Code Update as part of the Comprehensive Land Use Update.
