ITEM TITLE: Introduction of an ordinance amending Title 18 of the Municipal Code by adopting the amended Official Zoning Map in furtherance of the implementation of the General Plan land use map adopted by City Council on June 7, 2011. PREPARED BY: Raymond Pe, Principal Planner PHONE: 336-4421 DEPARTMENT: Development Services APPROVED BY: EXPLANATION: The proposed zoning map was presented to the City Council on June 7, 2011 as part of the Comprehensive Land Use Update, which included the General Plan Update and the Land Use Code Update (Municipal Code Title 18 Zoning). On June 7, the City Council approved the General Plan Update, and, on June 21, approved the ordinance adopting the amended Land Use Code. The Official Zoning Map is a zoning regulation within the context of and adopted pursuant to the Land Use Code (Municipal Code Title 18 Zoning). The Official Zoning Map establishes zones throughout the City that specify permitted uses, intensity of development allowed, and standards for development such as building heights, setbacks, and required parking. The proposed Official Zoning Map is consistent with and implements the land use designations of the General Plan. The General Plan land use map establishes the general distribution of land uses throughout the planning area. The Official Zoning Map identifies the specific zones that apply within each of the broader General Plan land use designations. FINANCIAL STATEMENT: APPROVED: ACCOUNT NO. Not Applicable APPROVED: Finance MIS ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW: A Final Environmental Impact Report (SCH# 2010051009) was certified by the City Council on June 7, 2011 pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act. ORDINANCE: INTRODUCTION: FINAL ADOPTION: STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Introduce the ordinance. BOARD / COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: On July 18, 2011, the Planning Commission took action by resolution to recommend that the City Council approve the Official Zoning Map. ATTACHMENTS:
