RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
AUTHORIZING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
THE CITY OF SAN DIEGO OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND
THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY REGARDING FISCAL YEAR 2013
URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE GRANT FUNDING FOR
EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING FOR POLICE AND FIRE PERSONNEL
WHEREAS, the Urban Area Security Initiative ("UASI") Grant Program
provides funding for equipment needed to respond to natural disasters or weapons of mass
destruction terrorism incidents that may occur in the San Diego urban area; and
WHEREAS, the City of National City is required to execute a Memorandum of
Understanding with the City of San Diego Office of Homeland Security that documents the
roles, responsibilities, and expectations at the local, State, and federal levels, and ensures
that the City of National City, as a participant in the program, agrees to meet the State and
federal requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
National City hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with
the City of San Diego Office of Homeland Security regarding the Fiscal Year 2013 Urban
Area Security Initiative Grant Funding Program. Said Memorandum of Understanding is on
file in the office of the City Clerk.
