HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 2013 — RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AWARDING A CONTRACT TO CLAUSS CONSTRUCTION IN THE NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF $858,609 FOR THE 2020 AND 2100 HOOVER AVENUE REMEDIATION AND SITE DEMOLITION PROJECT, AUTHORIZING A 25% CONTINGENCY IN THE AMOUNT OF $214,652.25 FOR ANY UNFORESEEN CHANGES, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT WHEREAS, the Engineering Division of the Development Services Department, in open session on January 22, 2014, did publicly open, examine, and declare five sealed bids for the 2020 and 2100 Hoover Avenue Remediation and Site Demolition Project ("Project"); and WHEREAS, Clauss Construction was the lowest responsive bidder with a proposed bid amount of $858,609; and WHEREAS, a 25% contingency amount up to $214,652.25 for any unforeseen changes to the Project is requested. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City hereby awards the contract for the 2020 and 2100 Hoover Avenue Remediation and Site Demolition Project to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, to wit: CLAUSS CONSTRUCTION BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City a contract in the amount of $858,609 with Clauss Construction for the 2020 and 2100 Hoover Avenue Remediation and Site Demolition Project. Said contract is on file in the office of the City Clerk. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes a 25% contingency amount up to $214,652.25 for unforeseen changes to the Project. PASSED and ADOPTED this 4th day of February, 2014.
