HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 2013 — RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION AND CORRESPONDING REVENUE INCREASE OF $100,000 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION WORK ON THE WESTSIDE IN -FILL TRANSIT ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT PROJECT SITE WHEREAS, Paradise Creek Housing Partners, LP, (the "Developer') and the Community Development Commission of the City of National City ("CDC") entered into a Disposition and Development Agreement titled Transit Oriented In -fill Affordable Housing and Paradise Creek Enhancement Project dated June 21, 2011; and WHEREAS, Phase 1 of the development consists of 109 units and the development of a community park; and WHEREAS, on December 18, 2013, the City entered into a Site Infrastructure Agreement ("Agreement") with the Developer that would reimburse the City up to $4,000,000 for the fees, costs, and expenses incurred by the City with respect to preparation of the site, including without limitation, costs incurred with respect to relocation of persons and improvements located at the site; and WHEREAS, the City received a $1,000,000 payment on December 20, 2013, as required by the Agreement; and WHEREAS, the revenue will be appropriated for the payment of site remediation contracts and related costs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City hereby authorizes the appropriation and corresponding revenue increase of $1,000,000 for the purpose of environmental remediation work on the Westside In -fill Transit Oriented Development Project site.
