I • In response to growing demands for a safe and convenient way to dispose of household prescription medications, the San Diego l'oIkc Department has installed a drop -box at its Sonthcastern Division for quick and convenient use. Residents can bring all types of unwanted medications, including prescription and over- the -counter drugs. Citizens ran remain completely anonymous. Remember, this program is for household tnedicatioits only. Medical professionals are not eligible. Why should we ,avoid flushing medications or throwing them _in the trash? • Wastewater treatment facilities are not designed to remove many of the constituents found in medications, so these materials- min: pass untreated into our water system.
