The project location is a 1,599 square -foot commercial suite adjacent to International House of Pancakes, in
Bay Plaza shopping center located at 1430 E. Plaza Blvd., in the Major Mixed -Use District (MXD-2) zone.
The applicant is proposing to operate a retail business that primarily sells electronic cigarettes and
associated products from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.
Council reviewed the Notice of Decision of the Planning Commission's denial at their meeting of June 5,
2014 and set the item for hearing on August 5, 2014 in order to discuss the item. At the August 5th hearing,
Council discussed the possibility of approving the CUP for the sale of eLiquid only (no hardware) and asked
staff to return with options for approval regarding retail and seating/waiting area options.
