HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004 CON Kleinfelder Inc - Testing Inspection Services Fire Station Change Order #2ORIGINAL DESIGN AGREEMENT CHANGE ORDER NUMBER TWO DATE: December 7, 2004 PROJECT: National City Fire Station TO: Kleinfelder, Inc. DESCRIPTION OF CHANGE: This agreement change order is being written to include additional special inspection services necessary to complete the project. DISCUSSION: When the original contract with Kleinfelder was executed we did not yet have contract with the contractor that was ultimately awarded the construction project through the low bid process. The inspection work identified in the original contract was based upon the City's estimated construction schedule, not the schedule of the contractor actually performing the work. Now that the project is under construction, and the schedule has been established and refined several times, it has become clear that additional inspection is necessary to insure that the project is constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications. We have reviewed the project schedule and the remaining work necessary to inspect and it has been determined the remaining items of special inspection consist of: Earthwork/Pavement 12 hrs. Backfill Retaining Walls and utilities 32 hrs. AC Paving 10 hrs. Site Concrete Paving 32 hrs. Building Concrete 12 hrs. Site Masonry Walls 30 hrs. Roofing Membrane 24 hrs. Administration and Report Writing 10 hrs Total 162 hrs. 162 hrs at $69 per hour total $11,178. DESIGN AGREEMENT ADJUSTMENT: As a result of this change order the design agreement is adjusted as follows: 1. The price is increased in the amount of $11,178 from the current contract price of $75,583 to a new contract price of $86,761. 2. The time is unchanged. The work will be completed by April 2005. This Change Order shall be considered full compensation for furnishing and installing the materials, labor, tools and equipment, profit, overhead, and all incidentals for performing the work as described herein.
