HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005 CON Knotts Soak City/Southwestern College Indemnity AgreementINDEMNITY AGREEMENT The City of National City, as consideration for the use of Knott's Soak City by the National City Fire Department for training purposes at the Southwestern College Crown Cove Boating and Water Safety Training Center, hereby agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Southwestern Community College and Knott's Soak City and their officers, agents and employees, against and from any and all liability, loss, damages to property, injuries to, or death of any person or persons, and all claims, demands, suits, actions, proceedings, reasonable attorney's fees, and defense costs, of any kind or nature, including worker's compensation claims, of or by anyone whomsoever, resulting from or arising out of the National City Fire Department's use for training purposes of the Southwestern College Crown Cove Boating and Water Safety Training Center. By: RESOLUTION NO. 2005 — 205 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INDEMNITY AGREEMENT WITH KNOTT'S SOAK CITY AND SOUTHWESTERN COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR NATIONAL CITY FIREFIGHTERS' WATER TRAINING AT KNOTT'S SOAK CITY WATER PARK IN CHULA VISTA WHEREAS, for the past five years, the National City Fire Department has coordinated a rescue training program for operations personnel with Southwestern Community College through the In -Service Training Program, a component of the Regional Occupation Program, which is held at Southwestern's Crown Cove Boating and Water Safety Training Center at Knott's Soak City in Chula Vista. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute an Indemnity Agreement with Knott's Soak City and Southwestern Community College in consideration of the continued use of Knott's Soak City for training purposes by the National City Fire Department at Southwestern's Crown Cove Boating and Water Safety Training Center at Knott's Soak City in Chula Vista.
