AN ORDLNANCE APPROVING TILE
ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
NATIONAL CITY, 'CALIFORNIA,
OF A PORTION OF FLORENCE
RESCBI)IVISIOFi IN THE COUN-
TY OF SAN DIEGO, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATED AS
"A PORTION OF FLORENCE RE-
SCBDIVISION".
WHEREAS, on the twenty-first
day of March, 1960 there was filed
to the office of the City Clerk of
the City of National Clty a written
petition for the annexation to, in-
corporation and inclusion In the City
of National City- a certain uninhabit-
ed territory ]particularly described in
said petition, and hero and after
described, in the County of San DI -
ego, State of California, and desig-
nated as '•a portion of Florence Re -
subdivision" pursuant to the annex-
ation of uninhabited territory act of
19(19, as amended; and
WVHEREAS, said petition was filed
by the sole owners of the area of
the land In such territory, and rep-
resenting all of the assessed value of
such territory according to the last
preceding equalizing examine roll of
the County of San Diego, in which
such territory Ls situated; and
WHEREAS, said petition was ac-
companied by the written consent of
the owners of said uninhabited ter-
ritory that the same may be taxed
to pay its proportionate share of
any indebtedness for liability of the
City of National City contracted pri-
or to or existing at the time Of the
annexation thereof; and
WIIGIREAS, pursuant to the terms
and provisions of said annexation of
uninhabited territory act of 1939, as
amended, the Council of the City of
National City, at a regular meeting,
held on the fourth day of April, 1950,
adopted a resolution giving notice
Of the proposed annexation. which
resolution described the boundaries of
the territory so proposed to be an-
nexed to the Clty of National City.
and designated such territory as a
portion of Florence Itesubdivlston;
and said resolution provided for a
hearing to be held on the second day
of May, 1950 at the hour of 5:00 p.m.,
in the Council Chambers at the City
Stall. National City, California, at a.
regular meeting of the City Council
of said City, at which time any per-
son owning real property wihtin such
territory proposed to be annexed
and having any objections to the
proposed annexation, might appear
before said City Council and show
cause why such territory should not
be so annexed: and
WHEREAS, the Clty Clerk of the
City of National City caused a copy
of said resolution to be published
once a week for two successive weeks
prior to said second day of May,
1960, in the National City News, a
weekly newspaper of general circula-
tion published in said City, to wit:
Upon the twentieth day of April and
upon the twenty-seventh day of Ap-
ril, 1950; and
WHEREAS. on the second day of
May, 1950. at il:00 p.m., at a regular
meeting of the City Council of said
City. It was found that no protests
were filed against such proposed an-
nexation
NOW. THEREFORE, B77 IT OR-
DAINIM by the City- Council of the
City of National Clty, California as
follows:
sEerrON 1. The City Council of
the City of National City hereby ap-
proves the annexation to the City of
National City of the following de-
scribed territory situated in the
county of San Diego, State of Call-
fornia, designated as "a portion of
Florence Resuhdtvislon", to wit:
All of Resubdivlsion of Florence,
First Subdivision according to Map
1F87, on file in the office of the
County Recorder, County of San
Diego, California, except that por-
tion lying easterly of the follow-
ing described line; beginning at
the Southeasterly corner of the
land described by Map 1(7i7 thence
South 71°48' West 400 feet to the
true point of beginning; thence N
18°12' West and continuing to an
interaectlon with the northerly
boundary of the land described by
Map 1887.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk of
said Clty is hereby authorized and
directed to file a certified copy of
this ordinance in the office of the
Secretary of State of the State of
California; giving the date of its
passage; and front and after the
date of filing of said document in the
office of said Secretary of State the
annexation of such territory so pro-
posed to be annexed and described
herein shall be deemed to be and
shall be completed, and thence forth
such annexed territory shall be, to
all intents and purposes, a part of
the Clty of National City, and such
annexed territory shall be taxed to
pay its proportionate share of any
indebtedness or liability of the City
of National City contracted prior to
or existing at the time of the an-
nexation thereof.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk be,
and said City Clerk Is hereby fur-
ther authorized and directed to file
in the office of the Recorder of the
County of San Diego an affidavit
stating that all requirements of the
laws pertaining to the proceedings
for the annexation of the territory
herelnabove in Section 1 described
have been complied with, which said
affidavit shall be accompanied by a
certified copy of the boundary de-
scription as set forth in said prooeed-
ings :utd also by a map delineating
such boundary, as required by sec-
tions 34080 and 34081 of the Govern-
ment Code of the State of California.
SECTION 4. The Clty Clerk is
hereby directed to cause this Or-
dinance to be published once in the
National Clty News, a newspaper
printed and published in said City,
and of general circulation therein.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall
take effect and be in force on the
31st day after the date of its final
passage..
