HomeMy WebLinkAboutAmerican Medical Response (AMR) - Regional Cooperative Care Program - ExtensionResolution of the Administrative Oversight Committee of the Regional Cooperative Care Program extending the "Agreement Establishing the Regional Cooperative Care Program" Whereas, on July 1, 2008, the parties entered into an agreement establishing the Regional Cooperative Care Program, and Whereas, as part of that agreement, there was established an "Administrative Oversight Committee", and Whereas, the Administrative Oversight Committee was granted certain, specific powers, and Whereas, Section 16 of the "Agreement Establishing the Regional Cooperative Care Program" provides for an extension of that agreement upon the mutual agreement of the Administrative Oversight Committee, and Whereas, the members of the Administrative Oversight Committee are desirous to extend the provisions of that agreement for an additional term of one year, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Administrative Oversight Committee of the Regional Cooperative Care Program that: The members of the Administrative Oversight Committee do mutually agree and concur that: 1) Pursuant to Section 16 thereof, the Agreement Establishing the Regional Cooperative Care Program will be extended for a period of one year, terminating on July 1, 2010; and further, 2) That this extension is for the purpose of meeting the initial intent of the agreement; and further, 3) That all sections of the original agreement except as expressly modified by this Resolution remain in full force and effect, including the provisions of Section 16, which will allow for further extension of the agreement subject to the provisions therein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute the Resolution of the Administrative Oversight Committee of the Regional Cooperative Care Program to Extend the "Agreement Establishing the Regional Cooperation Care Program" for a period of one year to July 1, 2010. This extension is for the purpose of meeting the initial intent of the agreement and all sections of the original agreement, except as expressly modified by this Resolution, will remain in full force and effect. The RCCP is a collaborative effort for enhancing emergency medical services (EMS) in the east and south portions of San Diego County's Zone 4 and the City's ambulance contract provider, American Medical Response (AMR). The member fire agencies (Chula Vista, National City, San Miguel, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Bonita-Sunnyside, and Imperial Beach) established a committee structure to research and develop a pilot program to facilitate a functional consolidation of EMS management, oversight, training, medical direction and quality assurance and improvement programs. The RCCP improves the quality of patient care delivered in Zone 4 through standardization of high quality training and unified quality assurance and improvement programs.
