INCOAPDAOW) CHANGE ORDER #11 March 21, 2010 2010 MAR 29 A 9: 55 Project: Street Resurfacing Project, FY 09-10 Specification #09-09 Contractor: Koch -Armstrong A Change Order is hereby recommended for the following work in the amount identified below: Description of Change in the Contract This change in contract extends line items for the the following items of work at the intersection of 18th Street and Palm Avenue: mobilization, removal and replacement of approximately 660 square feet of cross -gutter, removal and replacement of approximately 77 lineal feet of curb and gutter, removal and replacement of 2 traffic loops, removal and replacement of approximately 384 tons of A/C (dig -outs), adjustment of 2 sewer manholes to grade, re -striping, and installation of street traffic markers. Justification for Change in Contract The work for this change in contract was not included in the original contract because, although contemplated at the time of the original contract, it did not appear that this work could be completed under the original budget. After completing work for this project, a project budget surplus remained. Given the low bid prices for this project compared to previous City resurfacing projects and similar resurfacing projects in San Diego County, it is likely to be advantageous for the City to complete this work at these unit prices. The work for this change in contract is of the same type and character as the original contract. The work for this change in contract will be performed by Koch -Armstrong, a contractor qualified and competent to perform such work. Cost Reconciliation See Attachments "A & B".
