Reason/Purpose for this Change Order.
Contractor was directed to repair pothole due to a failed abandon utility abandonment as directed by National
City at NC Blvd. and 7th.
The City of National City and Contractor agree to the following change to the original Contract:
The contractor will grind the additional area to a depth of approximately 8" to 12" and patch back with asphalt
to fill the existing pothole and repair to a smooth compacted uniform finish.

Revised ADA standard to include 3 additional ADA Pedestrian Passageways on 8th St. in lieu of striped
crosswalks currently shown on plans.

Contractor will excavate and remove three 11' x 11' areas in the proposed center median locations for the
addition of ADA Pedestrian Passageways as directed by Nation City. Work includes necessary removals,
traffic control, concrete flatwork, curb and tactile domes required to construct per ADA Standard.

Reason/Purpose for this Change Order:
Deletion of planted median on 8th St. Original design called for drought tolerant material with no irrigation.
Current design requirements could pose added maintenance cost issues for the city with a low survivability
rate of plant material. City will review adding this island at a later date with an automatic irrigation system.
