CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
Change Order No. 26 provides for:
The additional surveying, grading, benching, and compaction of a new 2:1 slope west of the community
garden at Paradise Creek Park.
Supporting Information:
The current CIP No. 18-07 project plans identified the existing slope west of the community garden at
Paradise Creek Park. The current conditions of the slope eroded and created an unstable slope to
accommodate future improvements. The CIP No. 18-16 project plans identified this slope to have irrigation
and landscape. However, there were no grading plans for this slope on either of the project plans. After
review with the City and the Civil Engineer of Record, it was determined to stake the property line at the top
of the slope and build a 2:1 slope. The grading and benching operations did not pass the property line and
was all completed on the City's right of way. This new slope will support irrigation and landscaping and
reduce future city maintenance on this slope.
Time Adjustment:
It is recommended that 10 working days be added to the contract time to accommodate the grading,
benching and compaction of the new 2:1 slope west of the community garden at Paradise Creek Park.
Cost Adjustment:
All work associated with surveying, grading, benching and compaction of the new 2:1 slope west of the
community garden at Paradise Creek Park was captured under a Time and Material basis. The total amount
for labor, material, and equipment associated with this work is $24,519.17

square footage of the bio retention basin.
Cost Adjustment:
All work associated with procuring and laying sod on the extra square footage of the bio retention basin was
captured under an agreed lump sum price. The total amount for labor, material, and equipment associated

WEST COAST NATIVE
BENTGRASS (Agrostis pallens) is
a cool -season bentgrass, with a rich,

meadow.

deeper rootzone. This allows the plant to
withstand longer durations of very little water,
thus making it extremely drought tolerant.
