Change Order No. 5 prov des,for:
Procuring and installing additional soil to bring up the existing grades of the planter areas to match the
new improvements and amend the additional soil in the planter areas as per comments issued by Neri
Landscaping on the soil analysis report.
Payment for this change order will be as agreed force account.
Supporting Inf+.rmaticrn:
During installation of the new improvements the original contract did not account for additional soil
needing to be brought in for the planter areas to meet the new grades. The planter areas would have
created a potential safety concern with it being around 6-8 inches lower. Also, per the special provisions
section 800-1.1.4 the soil was tested for agricultural suitability. Following the results of the soil analysis
report and per recommendations from Neri Landscaping, the Contractor was directed to provide class
topsoil and provide amendments to promote plant growth with the high salinity environment.
Time Adjustment:
Fifteen (15) additional working days are being added to the contract to provide the time necessary to
bring in additional topsoil as well as to amend the topsoil within the planter areas.
Cost Adjustment:
The additional cost for this change in the scope of work has been agreed upon at a lump sum price of
$3,694.95. The cost for this work was determined by force account.
The pay method and amount have been reviewed by the Project Manager and are considered fair and
reasonable. The supporting documentation is on file with the project records.

This Change Order modifies Contractor's and the City's obligations and rights under the abovementioned
contract. This change order is not effective until approved by the City,
Time arliustment:
Fifteen (15) additional working days are to be added to the Contract as the additional work Impacts the
critical path of the approved schedule. The additional working days account for the time necessary to
place additional soil as well as to amend the soil In place.
Cost of Change Order:
The City and the Contractor agree that the Contractor shall procure and install additional soil to bring
up the existing grades of the planter areas to match the new improvements and amend the additional
soil in the planter areas per comments issued by Neri Landscaping on the soil analysis report The
additional work includes but is not limited to filling crass A topsoil in the planter areas and amending
the soil per the soils report. The total amount for all labor, material, equipment and ail other
associated work 3,694 9' .

the work, including but not limited to all equipment, materials, labor, supervision, overhead, fees, bonds,
insurance, profit, etc. and that there will be no further compensation. All of the terrns and conditions of the
original contract documents are incorporated herein. The signer for the Contractor confirms that he/she is
authorized to bind the Contractor to this Change Order.
