HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023 CON Project Professionals Corp - Paradise Creek Educational Park Extension CIP No. 19-33 Change Order No. 6cry= 0PL 1EJ CHANGE ORDER MEMORANDUM February 23, 2023 To: Roberto Yano Director of Engineering & Public Works/City Engineer Engineering and Public Works Department City of National City From: Josh Johnson Project Manager Project Professionals Corp Project: Paradise Creek Educational Park Extension CIP No.: 19-33 Subject: Change order No. Cane Order No. 6 provides for: The removal and replacement of the east -west header curb bounding the permeable pavers and the installation a 4" thick concrete pad to anchor the bicycle racks. Payment for this change order was under force account. Supporting Information: On November 16, 2022, the Landscape Architect identified a hinge point along the east -west header curb at approximate station 3+1.5.00 as shown on the plans. To resolve this issue, the Project Manager directed the Contractor to remove and replace the header curb to maintain smooth curvature. While installing the gravel below the permeable pavers, the Project Manager identified a potential issue of vandalism if the bike racks were installed on the pavers. To ensure the bike racks could not be vandalized, the Landscape Architect revised the plans on November 17, 2022, to anchor the bike racks with tamper resistant bolts to a 30' x 3' x 4" concrete pad below the pavers. Time Adjustment: Four (4) additional working days were added to this change order for the time required to remove and replace the heady curb as well as for the additional time to design and install the concrete pad for the bike racks. Cos t Adjustment: [he additional cost for this change in the scope of work has been agreed upon at a lump sum price of ,655, 3. The cost for this change of work was determined by force account. The pay method and amount have been reviewed by the Project Manager and are considered fair and reasonable. This change order is not effective until approved by the City. Time adjustment; Four 4) additional working days are to be added to the Contract. Cost of Change Order: The City and the contractor agreed that the Contractor proceeded under force account with removal and replacement of the east -west header curb bounding the permeable pavers from approximate station 3+10.00 to station 3+30,00 and installing a 4" concrete pad for the installation of the bike racks. Contractor confirms that the price is fair and complete and represents all costs associated with the work, including but not limited to all equipment, materials, labor, supervision, overhead, fees, bonds, insurance, profit, etc. and that there will be no further compensation. All of the terms and conditions of the original contract documents are incorporated herein.
